Quick fix: middle-depth peeling

Are you familiar with this - pigment spots and dry-skin wrinkles after a vacation? You feel refreshed but your skin looks stressed. Free radicals have been at work, collagen has been degraded and melanocytes, the pigment producing cells, have been activated. What can be done?

It is now essential to regenerate the skin. Serums containing Retinol reduce the characteristics of skin aging and decrease melanin production. First signs of improvement can be seen after 2 - 3 weeks. However the pigment spots do not just disappear. In numerous skin cycles the low-lying pigments have to migrate to the skin surface from the basal cells in order to be repelled. His process can take several months.

Middle-depth peeling – not for home-use

A middle-depth peeling is a good choice if the results must be quick and impressive while reducing small wrinkles. You shed skin and say goodbye to your old skin. As with most anti-aging procedures, here too it is a matter of activating the self-healing cascade to bring forth new, better-organized and thicker skin. Since part of the corneal layer peels off, newer skin must form faster.

The choice of peeling depends on the desired effect and the amount of time available for healing. With middle-depth peelings most people hide at home so that no one sees the skin-peeling process. Not us, we take pleasure in scaring our neighbors.

The effect of middle-depth and deep peelings is based on minute injuries, which trigger a cascade of self-healing. Repetitive peelings thicken the skin verifiably. The epidermis becomes overall thicker, the basal cells show less deviation from normal cells and are in better condition than before the peel. The interpapillary ridges (rete pegs), the transition between the epidermis and the dermis, have a stronger wave-shaped form. Flattened protuberances are related to aging skin. After peeling the skin glows evenly and is rejuvenated.

Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) belongs in the hands of experts since the application requires a very exact evaluation of penetration and of the skin layers.

Home peelings The chemical, fat-soluble fruit acids peels, Salicylic acid (BHA) and Alpha Hydroxy acid (AHA), are surface active and suitable for self-peelings at home.

Mechanical peelings in the form of scrubs immediately make the skin even and smooth. With long-term use they work surprisingly rejuvenating if you succeed in activation the skin cycles.

Enzymatic peelings are also suited for self-treatment. They manage without abrading particles. Enzymes break down protein and loosen dead cells in the corneal layer. The dissolved skin residue can be rinsed off easily.

Retinol peelings are effective and safe. There are specially approved products since Retinol must be applied in a time-delayed manner. A very high dosage of Retinol, up to 3 grams of 1%, is applied on the skin mornings and evenings for several days. The treated skin gets red, itches and flakes. That is the desired Retinol reaction.

Each day Retinol penetrates deeper into the skin, after 4-5 days it even reaches the papillary dermis. This treatment ends after 3-5 days and the Retinol is stopped. The Retinol reaction subsides after a few days and vanishes entirely and after 2-3 weeks the skin is significantly rejuvenated, even and rosy. An additional advantage: after the very high dosage the skin suddenly tolerates a 1% Retinol. Therefore a Retinol peeling accelerated the acclimatization to Retinol.
